“Art Student” was written by Dave Ball in early 1979,[1] being one of the many early Soft Cell songs. He made two demo recordings of it: first part – “You're So Chic” is a song, with Ball himself singing, while “Part 2” consists of bass line with synth produced noises.
Release[edit | edit source]
Both demo recordings were released exclusively within limited Deluxe box set edition of Dave Ball's book Electronic Boy in 25 June 2020, on CD compilation 1979–2019 (as Soft Cell tracks), while “Part 2” also appears on 7″ EP (as Dave Ball track).
