Origin[edit | edit source]

Record and release[edit | edit source]

“Bruises On All My Illusions” was the second song revealed from new album, released as digital single on streaming platforms in 7 October 2021, with announcement of associated physical releases: single and remix EP of the same name.[1][2] The single came out in February 2022.

Other versions[edit | edit source]

Remixes[edit | edit source]

Remixes by Manhattan Clique and The Grid were announced with Bruises On All My Illusions releases.[1] One came out in February 2022 on CD, alongside original album version, while another followed in July on vinyl with remixes of other songs. All remixes were later included on *Happiness Now Digital USB collection in 2024.

Edit[edit | edit source]

After *Happiness Not Included release, a radio edit of the song was announced to appear on Nostalgia Machine CD single;[3] it came out in November 2022. It later appeared on *Happiness Now Completed compilation of bonus material, then on *Happiness Now Digital alongside other versions of the song.

Live[edit | edit source]

Soft Cell started performing “Bruises On All My Illusions” live before album's release, on 2021 concert tour celebrating 40th anniversary of Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret. A recording from final show in London was released in 2023 with Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret... And Other Stories: Live releases, then later included on *Happiness Now Digital collection.

Extended[edit | edit source]

An extended mix by Dave Ball was released in July 2023 on *Happiness Now Extended compilation; unlike other versions of the song it stays exclusive to this release.
