Artwork

Like the rest of *Happiness Not Included releases (except for the title song digital single), cover image of Purple Zone features abandoned Ferris wheel in Pripyat, Ukraine, where Chernobyl nuclear plant is located. This time only black front silhouette of it is seen, with starry night sky in purple hues behind it and bright pink ‘Soft Cell’ logo at the top. The back cover with information has plain pink background and posterized image of unknown structure in the corner.

Same artwork goes for digital single, while vinyl and remix versions have blue and purple accents instead of pink.

The design is credited to James McWilliam, the Ferris wheel idea by Chris Smith, photographer is unknown.

Other versions

12" vinyl

The 12" version of the single on black vinyl differs from CD – it features only title track and its remixes by Pet Shop Boys. Because of vinyl production delays, it's getting a much later release date, in November 2022, however digital single for streaming platforms, released with the music video in March, shares the same tracklist.

The Remixes

Digital single Purple Zone: The Remixes was announced on May 14th. It is said to contain new remixes by Manhattan Clique and Hercules And Love Affair, with estimated date of release on June 1, 2022.
